What is Exercise Science + Rehabilitation?
Exercise Scientists are professionals with high level training in exercise and sport science. At a minimum, they hold a Bachelors degree. This equips them with the knowledge and skills to apply science of exercise to develop interventions that improve health, fitness, well-being, performance and assist in the prevention of chronic conditions.
The aim of exercise science interventions is to educate, promote and implement the adoption of physical activity and/or exercise. These programs can be at an individual, community or population level.
How can Exercise Science help you?
Exercise is medicine and moving is one of the best ways to stay healthy and fit. Whatever your goal, there is a way to utilise movement to help you achieve the most out of what you are striving for. Exercise prescription from an exercise scientist can help with minor injuries and end stage rehabilitation to get you moving functionally again, sport-based performance, or general well-being and functionality.
The main focus behind releasing, activating and strengthening different muscle groups is how we design specific and individualised programs. Each program is different as every person moves different. Through an initial consultation, we can determine the best step forward for you!
how it works
Through a functional movement screen, an exercise scientist can assess how the body moves through different movements. This will give indications of stability, flexibility, mobility and strengths. Each session compromises of releasing tight muscles, activation and strengthening and the next step forward within the program. Each session is different and can be designed to how you want to train.
